You’ve seen beautiful Diana in some of my photos before, but this shoot was extra special because it was the first time i got to photograph her and her sweet babies. When she told me she wanted photos of her son’s 3rd birthday, i didn’t give the option, i told her exactly what she should wear too and i truly believe mamas should be in more photos. She didn’t say no, she trusted when i told her she was going to be in them too. But that’s not always the case.

Most moms i talk to admit that they aren’t in many photos, they’re usually behind the camera, they also tend to shy away; with excuses that i always deem not good enough. Of course ya’ll want the best photos of your kids- and that’s what matters, but what matters to those kids when they grow up are the moments and interaction with mom. Those are the photos they’ll print and hold close to their hearts. The way they remembered mom after things change and no matter how moms feel (whether it’s weight or lack of makeup or just simply not feeling up to it) your kids won’t care. You are the physical embodiment of everything you mean to your loved ones. Right now. As you are. So for your kids… exist in photos. And then see the BIGGEST smiles and laughs come when mom is playing, laughing, and just being the best mom ever. You want better photos of your kids?- Get in the photos with them. Make some memories.
