Got You Bach Founder, Abbie Clinton
S: Abbie Clinton is the founder of Got Your Bach planning service-Tell us a little about. the business and you!
A: Got your Bach is a bachelor and bachelorette planning service that wants a one of a kind experiences. We build experiences around no #FOMO we’re located in Dallas but we plan services not just in the US but internationally. We want our brand really to show what we’re about- super funky and colorful and fun and it drags you in and people get caught looking for hours. A super fun spot for girls to inspiration and tips and tricks for girls looking for the future.
S: I find myself reading and looking at your stuff and it sucks me in. Can you tell us about the services you provide
A: We plan bachelorette parties all over, and only been in business for about a year, but people really are doing experiences. We do from Miami to Austin to the Bahamas- we say if you can dream it- you can do it. We don’t normally do just girls weekends but a lot of people have had to postpone- so now women are doing it after the wedding or even as couples- because they love the itineray. We offer 3 main packages suggest these mini guides- where to eat, what to, where to go and fun activities and we sell those on our website. Then we have partial and full packages and curate fully custom itinteraries including every meal from the time they leave to going home.
S: How did you get started in this field?
A: I had been on a couple bachelorette getaways but that’s where the inspiration came from. Before this, i was a full time wedding photographer and i went to college for event planning. And i missed planning, and it’s such a big part of me and i didn’t realize how much my heart was in it. This is one time when they can be celebrated with no one else’s opinion.
S: you’re so right, it’s hard to focus on even when you’re the bride so let’s move into trends and what’s some favorite trends
A: my favorite one is the combined bachelor and bachelorette parties and right now it’s a bigger trend because people are getting married a little later and friends are intertwined. We did a 30 person combined in the Bahamas this summer and it was one of the most fun. They would do some nights separately and some together.
S: Any trends that you aren’t so crazy about that you’ve seen
A: i also think you should be celebrating the bride to be and everything should be tied back into that- so i think that whole penis straws or only penis forever, i think those trends should go away forever. With social media being so big- things are going to be photographed and for me i wouldn’t be comfortable showing that. And as far as location wise- people are starting to stay away from Vegas. Which we love to see because people are wanting to explore more and to locations that they’ve never been.
S: i also saw men’s servers on your Instagram and that’s not so common to me- so tell me about some uncommon trends
A: The man servants were amazing- they were the most gentleman men, they were in their suits- they’d take pictures and bar tended all day and played games with them too. One would unbox the gift and would show the gifts. They’re in New York, Los Angeles, and Palm Springs right now. Another partner is the Artful Bachelorette. You can have this male model come in as much or less clothing as you want, and the teacher that comes in teaches you how to paint them. It’s a twist on the stripper. We did a disco theme for one, and the model held a disco ball in front of himself. We also partner with an Ax throwing company which is so fun- or cooking or cocktail classes. So that’s why we put the ideas out there!
S: how have you found clients connect with you?
A: Obviously social media is huge for us- Instagram and Pinterest are big for us. We’re constantly putting out new things- and even if you aren’t a client you can find recommendations for cities. It’s not as in depth but you can get some ideas.
S: Can you talk about Pinterest and boards you make for clients?
A: When a client is officially a client- we send out a questionnaire with branding, decor, and what to do questions and because of my background i’m very about cohesiveness. we love to keep it a theme. we put together mood boards for the clients and hashtags and we also go further and have our designer create logos for our bachelorettes.
S: Any tips or info for brides to be today?
A: it’s hard not to, but don’t stress. You see how much it takes a toll on brides and families, they feel they have to make it perfect, but have fun! it should be about what’s actually happening and that’s committing to a marriage and another person for the rest of your life.
S: A lot of bachelorettes tend to have one tiny little night or go all out and i know you love to specialize in the happy medium, will you talk about that?
A: There are so many people that can’t do that all out travel to another country or place and we have helped so many clients create a one of kind experience even in their home town. We can send them places they’ve never heard of and they lived here! And we even created this fabulous backyard pool party at a friends’ of the bride’s house. I think girls think “okay since i can’t go to Miami for 5 days, i’ll just go out one night” but it doesn’t have to be an extravagant thing, you can find a fun hotel within driving distance and make it a blast.
S: you’re so right- with every city i’ve lived in- within driving distance there is something fabulous and fun and new to experience. So what’s been a big game changer as a planner?
A: To be willing to make changes, trends, pandemics, and being able to pivot in the right direction. i haven’t been in the planning industry THAT long, but things change quickly.
S: what’s been some biggest learning lessons as you grown?
A: i think that don’t sleep on an idea- really with Got Your Bach- and it hit me hard and it was a business idea one night and the next week it was a business. I am making this happen. i would say just go for it, don’t wait until it’s perfect, because you’re going to be waiting your entire life. If you have that mindset, you will figure out and make it work.
S: So you have any other advice for brides to be?
A: When planning your wedding- don’t go on Pinterest, which i know it’s the opposite of what we said, but your brain is going to be stimulated by something different so once you get what you want your wedding to look like- stick to it and get off Pinterest and you’re going to make yourself crazy. It will make the planning process easier if you stick with what you like, what you know- and go with that.
S: Are there way for brides to add in colors and fabulous ideas without spending the big bucks
A: Yes, add in the DIY projects- those are on Pinterest! Go into your local stores and bring some things together. Not everything has to be so extravagant, and make things personal.
S: Moving towards business- i know right now is tricky but what’s your goals for the rest of 2020?
A: Things have shifted, but we’re doing the best to serve our clients. we’re hoping to contract more employees in the main cities.
S: Where can we find you and follow you and what you’re offering
A: we just launched our brand new website gotyourbach.com and that’s where you can find all the services, products, and new service virtual bachelorette planning package and that’s where you’ll find the blogs and advice. And Instagram and Pinterest as well! Got Your Bach for all of thee above, and we love to connect with clients and always answering tips and tricks too. Even if you’re going on a family, couples trip etc- there are tips for you and recommendations.
S: You’re also offering something through your email list too
A: we have a bachelorette planning checklist. Add to the newsletter from 6 months to the week before to plan your perfect bachelorette. We’re also. offering 15% from now to May 10th.
S:Thank you so much!
