When Love Beauty and Planet reached out to add some beauty checklist for your Photoshoot, i was excited to share with you! So here’s just a little how to prepare!
Whether you’re having a wedding day shoot, family portraits, or business pictures done, having a photo shoot is always a big deal! It’s a time when you’ll definitely want to look your best, and for most of us that usually means some pre-shoot prep. To help you get everything done so you look and feel amazing, check out my beauty checklist with all the tips you need, from dealing with high hair porosity to making sure your skin glows.
Fix Your Hair
The care and maintenance you’ll need for your hair depends on what type you have. If yours is easily managed then you’re very lucky, and you won’t need to do so much. But, if you have high hair porosity that leaves your locks frizzy, or hair that gets greasy quickly, be sure to bring a quick-fix hair kit with you. This could include anti-frizz serums, hairspray, and dry shampoo.
Get The Glow
If you really want to shine on camera, be sure to exfoliate before your shoot. By getting rid of those old, dead cells, you’ll reveal the glowing skin beneath. For a cheap, easy solution, mix sugar with oil and rub all over your skin before washing off and finishing with a moisturiser. Don’t forget to gently exfoliate your face too!
Shoot-Ready Makeup
The makeup you wear in front of the camera is very important and can transform a shoot. My top tip is to avoid anything that’s too ‘glowy’ which is going to reflect the camera flash way too much so you’ll end up looking shiny and sweaty. Start with a mattifying primer beneath your foundation and finish with a matte powder to avoid this and keep your makeup in place all day. Always bring along your makeup too so we can do little touch ups throughout the shoot and keep you looking fresh faced.
The Little Things
When it comes to a photoshoot, the little details can make the biggest difference. From a fresh manicure to perfectly plucked brows, it’s these small preparations that’ll really help you look your best. Don’t forget to shave any unwanted hair, too, and always make sure your face, body, and lips are properly moisturized!
Once you’ve got the pre-photo prep down, you’ll be able to rock up to your shoot ready to go. These tips may not be the most extravagant, but they go a long way to giving your confidence a boost when it’s time to get in front of the camera!
