Five Things.

Good morning! I've been doing my series Five Things for a while, and decided to switch it up a bit for you! I've gotten some requests to share more recipes on a blog so i'll be doing that! However, if you follow shannstarfit on instagram look up #shannasrecipes and you'll see a ton of meals and snacks i've made in case you're looking for something else!

1 cup plain low fat greek yogurt

3/4 cup sugar {or sweetener of choice, i used organic coconut palm sugar]
1.5 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
2 ripe bananas

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Spray tin with non-stick cooking spray or line 12 muffin tins with silicone or foil liners.
2. Place all of the ingredients, including bananas in a blender or food processor, and blend until oats are smooth.
3. Divide batter among cupcake liners, and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean.
**Be sure to watch them closely in the oven, because depending on altitude, baking time may be a little less**

2- Delicious veggie snack, ranch dip-

flavor god greek yogurt healthy snack idea

i've bragged about Flavor God Seasonings for a while, if you follow me on other social media platforms you've probably seen it. but Ranch was one i haven't used as much and found a perfect little recipe for you to try! Try non-fat plain greek yogurt and add in the ranch seasoning. There you have it, a perfect dip for your veggies. it tastes just like ranch dressing but much healthier version. yum!

walden farm delicious snack ideas

3- walden farms-

I use their products so often, and for some reason fought it! calorie, and fat free. don't eat a ton of fat free stuff, but since learning my body holds onto fat i'm more aware of what i've been putting it in and this stuff has been wonderful to adding a little extra flavor. Aside from pancakes, i add the pancake syrup to eggs and brown rice with feta cheese. sounds nuts, but it's delicious. the chocolate and caramel syrup is a perfect addition to proyo (protein yogurt) add your favorite protein powder in with non fat plain greek yogurt, these syrups and throw some fruit on top! It's a perfect treat for me especially at night when i'm craving sweets. most grocery stores have it, and some other flavors i haven't tried yet! so give it a go, and let me know what you think! You can order their products from their website or use a store locator to see where you can pick yours up today!  You can also purchase on amazon, below i included the link directly to the pancake syrup!

holi powder for photographers

4- Powder pigment /powder bombs-

i recently did a personal shoot with holi powder mixed with flour and it was a BLAST. I did mine in the garage since it was still a little chilly and we wanted to do more of a fitness shoot, so finding the space last minute meant turning my garage into a place Dexter might use ;)

You can purchase holi powder on amazon, along with powder bombs! Recently i came across what trends we'll see this year specifically in weddings, and a fun one we'll see a lot of is powder bombs instead of sparklers, so give it a try! i think they're so much fun!

At the bottom of the post, there is the holi powder directly from amazon that i purchased, just click and it'll bring right to the amazon website.

how to make a tulle skirt for photography

5- How to make a no sew tulle skirt.

You may have seen recently a few of my shoots had fun girly puffy skirts, and you can purchase these online (a few of mine are actually connected to dresses) but i made the mint and red one and absolutely love the versatility. There are a few ways to make them. You can use a belt or something a bit more heavy duty, but when i made them i had to quickly do it so here's how i did it!  i purchased 54"x40" tulle on amazon. (around $15) i then cut a long strip that would hold all the other strips. this one acts as the belt. I then cut long strips about 2 feet long (or depending how long you want the skirts to be) you can attach them to the first piece by making a loop or just tying at the top. it was as easy as that! time consuming, and much easier if you just wear the skirt while attaching them. the "belt" piece of the tulle just ties to fit different sizes and works great! The ones that are sewn are probably slightly easier to work with, but this still works and looks great! See her full post and behind the scenes here!

You can purchase this exact mint tulle from amazon, link is below!

I Hope you enjoyed this month's Five things, and if there's something you'd like to see, i'd love to share!
