Small Steps and Their Ability to Create Big Distances
Small Steps and Their Ability to Create Big Distances-
With Olivia Hebeisen
S-Talk a little about you and what you do!
O-Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner at ETHOS in Red Wing towards home- not planned but that is what life is! I look at nutritional more of a holistic approach. we are all unique and different and our nutritional should be treated as such. given the right tools, our body can heal itself. We each have a unique puzzle, and i try to help you put it together yourself.
S- i know you aren’t competing for a bit, but do you have the desire to compete again?
O- Honestly right now i don’t, i did it because it brought back some competition after high school and college. I missed discipline and competition. i saw my brother do a competition with focus and concentration and i wanted to try it too. It’s long training, and all in- ending up stage showing everything. It’s you vs. you. I wanted to prove to myself that i could do it.
S-you switched from teaching to fitness and nutrition- talk a little about your new product
O- yes! i came out with my new online course, which has been a huge milestone for me. It’s a lot of work. it’s a 3 week course- How to find your nutrition compass through the course of your life. I pictured it for people who are able to concentrate on themselves, or fallen off the wagon and they’re now in the boat of where do i start- this course is diving into your own life, past, and i teach your how to look at that and milestones. our bodies have brought us through a lot and to here. And also look at symptoms and then look at themselves and see the habits.
It’s a 3 week or longer course and the end of the day i want you to know “this is the area i need to focus and concentrate on” and create goals from there.
link is HERE for the course!
S- How can we all help one another as women?
O- From a book: we are brought up to not accept our own greatness. we see this in compliments from people. we push aside or side swipe things that people compliment us on.
S- I read about the same type of thing. I read about it as denying a gift when i compliment, and we need to learn to accept.
O- Mindset and geared towards nutrition- people use the word can’t- especially with food. “i can’t have this.” the word can’t puts a road block up and holds us back and when we say can’t, we want it more. so instead of using the word can’t, so say choose. “i’m choosing not to have this food to have this in nutritional instead.” you’re choosing, and giving yourself the power.
S-share some nutrition tips- i know it’s overwhelming, but share a few things with us today.
O- 1- super simple, but listen to your body. and i’ll share how but people don’t take the time to do that. people take pride in being busy instead of slowing down and think they need to be doing. But if we take a second to listen to our body, we feel connection. and feel more like yourself. 2- we are meant to be unique and one of a kind. So small steps, whether it’s control over one meal a day, or changing time you lay your head down. but small small steps have ability to create big distances. we feel we have to be perfect all the time, and when we don’t- we think we’re off the wagon and then want to quit. instead of understanding life is like that and so is nutrition. 3- instead of thinking of just calories and macros, break down into categories like digestion. Is it normal, do you know what normal is?- we have to be to talk about poop. Digestion is huge, you shouldn’t have bloating feeling, gas often, constipation. Blood sugar is the next one, and connected to energy- we should have energy especially after eating. 4- hydration- water hello!- water can solve a lot of problems for us. it’s the first thing we forget about.
cravings are a sign you’re missing something. sometimes yes you may crave chocolate around your period. Chocolate can be a sign you need magnesium. Another sugar- 1 is not getting enough fat or 2 more we eat the more we want. and the other is salt- if you’re craving salt you need it.
S- This isn’t the original path, but the more i listen and talk to women, the more i find everyone is that way. so talk a little about what made you decide to change your path
O- I was teaching and coaching and i could see where other teachers thrived in that environment and i don’t think i can do this forever. It was a big decision to walk away, but i felt like at the end of the day, i have to do this and i have to try it.
S- i think we forget that- our course may change, but everything we experienced helps us bring us into our purpose.
O- You have to keep going and keep building, you are meant for the right people out there. There’s still set backs and learning, but i know i’m where i’m supposed to be
S- tell us about. more products and goals in the works
O- Right now, a lot is online, it’s connecting with them there and we can do a lot there. Continuing and pursuing these courses and offer information without being there.
S- where can we find you!
